Lighting question

I am starting to purchase my supplies for my baby panther setup. I bought the 16x16x30 cage as my initial juvie enclosure. Is there a hood for the UVB light I can buy for this size cage that will transfer over to he big boy cage 24x24x48? I prefer not to buy one for the small cage and a new one for the big cage unless necessary. Does the UVB provide enough light for viewing as well?

If you can stand it, purchase your T5 HO dual bilinear fixture as 24" and let it hang over the sides of your 30" cage. It will hang off 4" to each side, but you WILL need it for a 48" tall cage. I use the Zoomed Aquasun fixtures on every cage. I LOVE THEM!

Is this it? So it isn't a problem to lay on cage, it doesn't get hot? What other bulb goes in it?

The UVB fixture does not get super hot like the basking light so yes you can lay it directly on top of the enclosure

I buy my fixtures at WalMart, Home Depot or Lowes. The 24 inch duel fixture would be a good choice. I use a Retpisun UVB light in one side and a 6500 kelvin plant light bulb from Home Depot in the other side.

Can you plant bulb lay on the top of the screen too? Can you post a link for the bulb and fixture?
