Lighting Question

So I am starting to make a list of things Ill need to set up first cage. Ill prob buy the Large reptibreeze to start...

- Is different lighting required for live plants vs fake?
- I have a linear light fixture I used for for a 40 gallon fish tank.... would that fixture hold the necessary bulbs?
Thanks in advance...

What are the specifications on the fish tank light fixture? If it held a 2ft t5 bulb (for example) a 2ft t5 uvb would work in the fixture.
For the plant lighting I wouldn't worry about it to much. But if you really want to worry about it it depends on the plant, for example a ficus is relatively low light so it would do pretty good considering lighting. As opposed to a hibiscus which prefers full sun and unless you put a grow light in your enclosure (which is not recommended) it will not get full sun.
Hope this helps.

Was thinking ficus as main with fake everything else...go from there. I'll have to check current fixture it's in shed.

If the aquarium fixture is either T5 or T8, you can find the appropriate UVB bulb to use. A basking bulb will need its own fixture since the bulbs are different. You can find a single bulb fixture for the basking bulb at any home improvement store relatively cheap.

Ficus will do good with light from the linear UVB bulb and basking bulb. Make sure the pot it is in has good drainage so the daily misting doesnt drown it and you'll be good to go.
