Hey all so I have a question what lights can I use to help with my plants growing but won't affect my Cham, he has his 5.0 UVB tube and a heat lamp should I get a double slot light hood and put UVA tube in there to help the growth?
I have an umbrella plant and a ficus in my Cham cage and I don't use any extra lighting for the plants just have the light that the Cham has 12 hours on 12 hours off, be carefull not to drown them so easily done I'm on my second lot hopefully wont make same mistake again don't think they need any extra lighting?
I have the typical set up 24x24x48 enclosure with a scheflera in there. I was using the 6500kv tube but it just wasn't working out. I ordered a Jungle Dawn LED spotlight from site sponsor Light Your Reptiles. While the light was expensive ($79), it seems to have made the plant perk up within 2 days. It also puts out a really nice crisp light that makes my chams colors really pop out. I know that's expensive, but they are supposed to last quite some time from what Todd at LYR told me. I ordered another one yesterday I was so happy with the first. Also they put out no heat whatsoever.
p.s. if your interested in the Jungle Dawn spots you need to directly email Light Your Reptiles, they aren't on the website yet. I learned about them from Todd because I asked him some questions and he mentioned them. The one with the one purple led is what I ordered.
