Liquid calcium question..

I have asked this before but never got a answer. I need help with giving my veiled liquid calcium. He's been on it for 8 or 9 days, got it from the vet, it's called neocalglucon syrup and I give him 0.05 ml. everyday, he is around 3 months old, I think. Everyday I have to sit with him for 20 minutes or longer trying to get him to open his mouth to take it, he gets really stressed but I have to give it to him, he was calcium deficient when I bought him, I've only had him for a little over 2 weeks. What is a easier way to give him his liquid calcium? Can I inject it into his worms? If so how?

You can definitely inject it into bugs if you can! That's usually the best trick. I usually ask for syringes either from my vet or my local CVS (which is sketchier, but I guess I don't look like a drug addict to they never oppose to giving me one lol)

With the syringe filled and ready I will grab a worm or cricket by the back and hold them belly-up, and then slide the syringe into their abdomen between any "scales", until I'm inside and then inject very slowly (or it will gush out the puncture.)

Then I hand/tong feed the insect. But if yours eats well from a cup that should work as well. I always do this with the first insect of the day so they are hungry and want to take it.

Try it and if that doesn't work I can suggest something else.

i know a trick from my vet (when i had to give mine liquid vitamins).
just take him/her from the casque with 1 hand, and with the other just pull carefully his/her goiter. they hate that, that's their week spot and they'll open their mouth immediatelly and you can give the liquid.
or i discovered something new these days ... you know when they open their mouth when they're too hot ?! voila! i sometimes put her under the basking spot or in the sun and she opens the mouth and i pour the liquid in

Yea I was showed how to do that by my vet too but he really hates it, it stresses him out really bad so I try not to but I didn't think about when he opens his mouth, he rarely gets too hot , just when I take him outside but I'll try taking him out when it's time to give it to him tomorrow and see if it works until I get my syringes in the mail Thanks for the advice!!

yea, the boys are more 'emotional' )
i have a girl so she doesn't get angry that easy, i can 'torture' her a lot before she makes those black anger/stressed/scared spots (that's when i stop)

It's super easy for angry chameleons that gape a lot, but if you have a less aggressive one then it's hard to get them to open up without forcing them. Another trick is to slip in the syringe while they're chewing on food, but this is much easier to do on a large chameleon than a smaller one, so it depends.
