Hello
My little veiled chameleon 'Cleo' has been acting a tiny bit different the past two days. She is still eating and is a good colour etc. and sleeping normally. I keep seeing her lift her head right back and swallow but her mouth doesn't open. Kind of like she is trying to get something down, but this is sometimes when she hasn't eaten anything. She is still active and wanting out of her cage all the time to be in her window tree. I think she is due a shed as the skin on her head looks dry. I've been doing all the usual things (misting, gut loading). She generally looks healthy but I'm worried about the breathing, any advice would great.

Welcome to the forums. This is a great place to learn about chameleons and meet other chameleon keepers. I keep veileds and they are awesome chameleons with so much personality. I'm sorry to here that little Cleo has you worried. Chameleons are really good at worrying us. Holding their head back is not normal. Is could be a sign of an RI (respiratory infection). Do you see any extra saliva in her mouth? Have you heard any popping sounds coming from her mouth? How old is Cleo? Please post a recent photo of her.
