ive recent purchased a "little dripper" and have some questions.

First off, how should i get it into the cage? i dont want to let it driop through because it might rust the cage.. so what should i do?

Also, how do i set it up? do i just let it drip onto a big leaf and have a bowl under it to cathc the excess? or should i get something else for it to drip on?

My chameleon's droppings have been all black and im now worried because he isnt drinking enough even though im misting 4 times a day.

thank! :D

i've never had a problem with rusting... the heat lamp will prevent the water from rusting i believe.

but, you could hang it with the plastic supports on the edges of the cage.

the water should drip on some plants, but my chameleon drinks it straight from the source (LOL)

yes just on top of cage. You can lay the tube on top or cut a hole and insert the tube. i found that the tube on the top would cause the water to pool so I removed the tube and set the dripper on top of the lid of the little dripper(green plastic thing). It raises it up a little off the screen and you can really direct where you want the water to go this way.It drips straight out of the spicket this way. As far as drainage, if you use a container to catch the water, make sure it is shallow. Shallow enough if your cham fell or crawled into it that he would be able to get out.

Yea, strategically place the hose so when the drops come out they dont go straight to the bottom of the cage. Lets the droplets run on top of your tallest plants. This will help from flooding the cage (sort of). But also like said above, make sure you dont have a buildup of water on the bottom of the cage. You may want to figure out how much water to put to prevent flood. Example. Fill half way once every day. Just an example, this is something you personally will have to figure put. Your own equation in a sense.

thanks, but im still confused as to whhat to let it drip on.. just pick a big leaf out in the open and try and make them land on that? sorry im such a noob :p

I have a little dripper too, and it's hard to get it anywhere that my cham likes to chill, so she'll either drink from the catch dish at the bottom, or if I catch her in the right mood, she'll drink through the screen straight from the dripper tube, if I move it near her. It does drip over leaves, and I've only seen her drink it from those a couple times.

i\ have\ one\ too\ they\ are\ a\ great\ investment\ and\ chams\ do\ seem\ to\ like\ them\ it\ should\ not\ rust\ your\ cage\ because\ 90%\ of\ cages\ used\ for\ chams\ are\ not\ made\ of\ metals\ that\ co6m6monly\ rust
