Could someone please tell me if its ok to feed a adult male veild chameleon adult locusts?
I usually feed him size 5 locusts. He's 15 months old

I have fed Tommy some adults that I had - he loved them! Chams seem to like insects with wings more. My Lily used to love the adults more than anything else! I don't buy adults as they are really expensive, but if some of my extra large ones turn into adults then I feed them off. The thing to remember is not to feed any food item that has a body width larger than the gap between the cham's eyes. I have read that they can eat soft bodied worms, such as hornworms, that are slightly bigger than this, but we can't get them in the UK.

What veggies do you like to gut load your crickets and locusts with??
I currently alternate with carrots, oranges, apples, rocket, spinach and i occasinaly use tropical fish food.
Ive tried to gut load with potatoe but the crickets dont seem to gorge themselves on this.
Have you got any other ideas i could use for gut loading??
He dnt eat veg or fruit so i have to gutload as much as possible!!

I use 'wild rocket' salad leaves. Clean, pesticide free dandelions leaves are also good. Sometimes I grow wheat grass which the locusts love! I read in a book that, in the wild, locusts are a cham's primary source of calcium. It makes sense when you think that cows eat grass and produce calcium rich milk! I also use apple, carrot and potato occasionally too.

Spinach (like brocolli) is not good for gutloading as they both contain 'oxylates' which bind to the calcium thus preventing the chams from absorbing the calcium.

Don't use spinach or fish food, spinach has oxalates that bind calcium, and fish food is a bit too high in protien to use as a gutload.

And as for eating adult locusts, you can get the idea from this pics, even though thats not a locust its about the size of one if not larger.
