Sorry the pics arent bigger, I have never posted pics before. And I dont know why two of them arent showing up. But hey...its start.

You have a pretty GIRL there Dan :)

Hey there Dan.....I finally got time to find your post. Does anyone else here agree that Dan has a nice looking girl? The coloration Dan and the total lack of a bulge under the tail behind the legs is a real indication. She has some green on her checks like a female will at that age. At this size it would also have lots of color coming in on the body. The pattern on her back ridge also looks female. She is a beautiful girl though. I would not be sad to find out that you have a female. PM me Dan and we will continue the conversation we had before!

If you click on the picture they will open up into a new window that is larger, so don't worry about that.

The others are showing as invalid links. Check the links again and see if they were put in incorrectly on accident (or if the pictures are missing).

Pictures for Dan.......

Hi Dan.........got your private message.....I wanted to post pictures in my reply to you, but I can't with a private message (unless I'm missing something). Females have white lateral lines too. Here is a picture of a six month old female named Ormanda. She's an Ambilobe from the Anubus Jr. line (The Chameleon Company):

Ormanda has light shades of green on her checks, her sides and her legs. She has quite a bit of barring and striping.

Below is one of the Ambilobe babies I hatched out. He is 2 1/2 months old and about 2 1/2 inches snout to vent. Look at the underside of his tail. There is a definite bulge there. I could see bulges on the males in this clutch after just a couple of weeks. They were hard to see and very subtle but you could see it when their tails moved. There would be a slight fleshy area under the tail, below the bone line. And look at the color of the baby below. At 2 1/2 months there should be some color in males. This guy already has green, blue, red and yellow coming out.

So now, Dan, go back and look at your little one. Take a good look at the underside of the tail behind the vent area. In the picture it looks flat. Pictures can hide a bulge somewhat if the angle is wrong. You can confirm in person if things are flat behind the vent. How long is your cham from snout to vent?

It sure is a nice looking cham no matter what sex it is. I think females are beautiful too :)
