Magnets?

Hey guys,

I've decided to put up some shower curtain on the sides of my guys screen cage to help with humidity and keeping his mist only in the cage.
I'm magnet shopping to help hold it up, do you think 4.5lbs pull force would be enough? What if i wanted to later replace the shower curtain with acrylic?

Is there a better way I should be doing this?
I am trying to keep it fairly cheap for now, and I'll be doing this for two cages.

I've made acrylic/plexiglass panels to fit over the screen of a custom cage for the same reason you described. It was an experiment and worked great. Basically I made "storm windows" for the cage, and held the panels in place with screw-anchored toggles just like the real thing for door screens. The cage frame was wood, so small wood screws worked just fine.

To attach shower curtains attractively use heavy weight "crystal clear" curtains. The weight tends to make them hang straighter and the creases fall out if you heat the vinyl with a hair dryer on high. I usually attach them across the top of the cage frame using the grommet holes provided. If the curtain is trimmed to fit you may not need to anchor them on all sides, just the top, with maybe a velcro button on the lower corners. This way there is still a bit of air exchange (the panels are a little "leaky"). You could attach them with small zip ties, light gauge wire, staple gun, velcro (but pulling the curtain on and off a lot tends to tear the vinyl eventually), tape, magnetized self adhesive strips, etc.
