Making cage bigger help

I have a one year old male vailed and I have him in a reptibreeze large cage 18in by 18in and 36in tall he like to climb all over the cage vertically and horizontally I'm buying another cage the same size should I make the cage taller or wider?

I would make it taller. They usually like to be high up.

I'd make it taller by putting it on a table or shelf higher up, and then use the other cage to make it wider so he can stroll more than 4" in any direction if he feels like moving...

Why not just buy a bigger screen cage? Like the 4' x 2' x 2'?
