I have a adult male veiled about 1.5 years old the past two days hes been leaving his tree and walking around on the ground not for long periods of time usually once a day for an hour or so then he heads back up into his tree and branches his basking spot is at 90 all day and hes in a 2'x2'x4' enclosure is this normal behavior

hes probably just exploring his territory.
as long as hes not gaping, and hes not spending all day or extended periods of time down there, hes good.

Provided he is not showing stress signs or any signs of illness, i would call this normal behavior, my veils do it all the time. make sure he is not gaping or panting, no out of the normal behavior, and i'm sure all will be fine.

Ps, Welcome to the forums, i don't believe we've met. I'm Dan.

Yup like everyone else said as long as it doesn't happen all the time and for long periods of time its normal to want to check out your environment. Welcome to the Forum to by the way. This is a great place to meet other keepers and share experiences with others keepers and learn about chams. Your pic in your avatar is cool. Do you have any pictures of your guy?? We would love to see him. Everyone here loves to look at chameleon pictures :D
