Male vs. Female Veiled...

So i'm getting a new baby veiled chameleon this week, and i would like to know if i should get a male or female? I've heard that the males are better colored and more interesting, and that the females aren't as bright, but are more friendly with you. But the females also lay unfertilized eggs, and there's risk of egg-bounding. So what are the advantages and disadvantages of the two? Thanks!:)

If this is your first chameleon-save yourself the headache/heartache and go male. You need expererience with chams before you experience eggs.

You pretty much said the advantages/disadvantages. More though...males generally live longer. Males are generally larger too.

Thanks, that's what I was originally gonna go with, just makin sure!:)

I personaly say Male. I've owned both, and will say that males are much easier. As far as temperment goes, every animal is different. I had a female veiled that was the physical incarnation of the dark lord himself, and my current male Optimus Prime, would rather run and hide instead of hiss or bite!! When it comes to ease of care, coloration and overal size and impression, go with a male.

Definitely male, good luck with your new chameleon. There are tons of people here who are willing to answer questions. And read old posts using the search if you just want to do general research.

defo the male- better colours without risk of becoming ill because of the egg laying. My male is very friendly :D
