Hello All,
I am a new reptile mom, and have a baby chameleon. Her name is Dori, and she was born in August. She's a bit small, not sure why, but she is steadily growing. She doesn't eat worms... I don't know why, but she gets all huffy puffy when I put them in there. She also likes to get out and walk around. I have a little play area for her right now outside her cage and she just stares at it.. lol. She's a good girl overall and I just love her face!
Her enclosure is smaller, I will be building a PVC enclosure when she gets a bit bigger. With this one I took a shelving unit, water proofed it, then added a fiberglass sheet at the bottom and silicone sealant for easy clean up. I also treated the wood. Then I took a picture frame and took out the glass and backing, screened it and put a hinge on it for the door. It closes with a magnet catch. She's on dubia roaches, I started a colony because I just recently got a bearded dragon as well. Her UVB is a reptisun 10.0 and I can't remember what her heat bulb is. I think it's either a 75 or 100 watt. But it's consistently about 85 degrees. I also got a humidifier for her so that her humidity stays up. She does keep her mouth open at times, but that's mostly when she's basking. No sounds, no huffiness, no wheezing, no curling up. And she yawns. She's very strong, no shakiness. Pretty healthy. I'm increasing her food intake but she doesn't seem to eat too much. It takes the whole day for her to eat 7-10 roaches. It's weird, but I know one roach is like eating 5 crickets of the same size. I am dusting her food with calcium. And with D3 twice a month. Any suggestions? Please be nice about it.
