Congratulations Tiff, Ethel is super gorgeous, really pleased for you, you got one at last.
Looking forward to hearing about her and her habits and behaviour,I know you only have the one but I hear they are noticeably different from one to another, have individual traits etc and aware of their surroundings , just makes them even more sweet.
:)

You just used the word cute and spider in the same sentence. You may want to get checked for levels of insanity :p Best of luck with your new creepy crawlie!

:ROFLMAO: Lol, that's exactly what my partner remarked on, who has witnessed me in tears many times when I've been anyway near a spider or even a photo of a spider!
But these are just so sweet, especially when they use their little feety things to clean their eyes.
If mine hurry up and grow and I get a male maybe we can pair them up?
Phiddipus are so diificult to find so you were lucky with Ethel, :)

Yep! I have never used those two words in the same sentence. I have always hated spiders but these little girls don't look like the horrid things that live in my shed! The males look more 'spidery'!

Lol, I need to get used to this one first! Not sure I could do the babies. Someone on Facebook had nearly 200 babies in one clutch! I need to move her into a bigger home today. No idea how I'm going to do that!

Maybe you are right! jumping the gun a little with plans of babies-
I checked my 'specks' of spiders today- all well and seem to be moving around a little more and even though tiny i could see they were checking things out.
Then there's the added risk of trying to find someone or some shop that sells these spiders- you have to browse through the photos of the other monstrous species for sale - have you seen some of them?? Eugh!:ROFLMAO::eek:
Good luck with you moving her :cautious::LOL:- i can imagine if i was doing that- it would be so funny- :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

She's tiny!
She is compared to a tarantula, but to someone like me who doesn't 'do' spiders at all she is quite big! Her cute face is tiny, so as long as I focus on the front end it's all good! I fell in live with their cute faces. I've come so far in the past 8 years! When I got my first cham back in 2008 I couldn't even hold a tub of locusts or crickets and now I have a pet spider!

Yes- to an arachnophobe a 1cm spider is HHHUUUGGGEEE! Hoping she is doing well, does she jump around and check stuff out? Did you manage to move her to a new viv?
I think she is as cute as an animal can get but there's no way on earth I could touch her. I didnt know they had 8 eyes- as you say an eye for a leg.
I wanted to call mine Greedo- after the bounty hunter in the Mos Eisley Cantina in the first Star Wars

OMG! Well, she's in her new home (a large faunarium)! I put her old tub in there and she came out on her own for a nosey. All was ok until I took the lid off to show a couple who had come to buy a baby gecko. Ethel Webster was hiding at the top inside the lid (why, oh, why did I forget they do this?!) and she dropped out onto the worktop!! Cue, me squealing like a big girl's blouse and breaking out into a hot sweat, lol! Luckily she jumped back on the side of her cage (where she pooped on my worktop) and I encouraged her back up and over the top to the safety of her cage. You have all this to look forward to Twitchett! I bet you are wetting yourself laughing at this!

Sorry Tiff but I am indeed wetting myself laughing- I can just picture it- classic! absolutely classic :ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL:
I don't think I could of coped with a loose spider! I have this imagine of them hurling themselves at you but I guess it's not quite like that -That's so funny- thanks:)
