Sorry....love Tangled and we HAD to change his name since he is in a new home, new cage, new life!

Anyone following my thread over in enclosures, knows a bit about what I am talking about! https://www.chameleonforums.com/can-cage-size-stunt-growth-male-veiled-81445/

Those that do not, answered an ad off CL because a gal was getting rid of a male veiled, 1.5 yrs. No longer had time for him. We lost Karma almost a year ago and I have been on the hunt for a male veiled....and once I saw the pics...I knew he had to come home....

This was his former home:

A 10 gal. tank with a cage topper, covered with fiberglass screen to keep crickets in. No real plants, no branches....just 1 bendy vine and a larger fake vine. The tank was filthy at the bottom and dry as a bone.
Here is new cage! 24 x 24 x 48..... 2 real plants, lots of branches...basking branch now.... we will work more on it next weekend but it is great so far!

Here is a couple of pics of him that I got today!!

He is settling in! Enjoying moving around the cage and having room without rubbing as he turns!!

looks like hes had some hard times glad to see he is getting a new chance with you :)
good job

Thanks everyone!
I was livid when I saw the ad and talked hubby into letting me get him!
It was all I could do not to punch her in the face but I had my son with me....
I figure I quadrupled his living space.... we had donated all our old chams stuff to a rescue after she passed away.....so had to start from scratch. The gal I bought the cage from said it was an 18x18x36 which is not large enough for a male veiled normally but since he HAD been living in squalor.....I figure it would still be paradise!
Imagine my surprise when we got there to pickup and it was the 24x24x48!! I giggled all the way home on my great luck!!!

We are fixing the drain system next weekend and will be adding more vines for him.

He has done nothing but cruise since we put him in new cage! Cruise and stretch! He has stretched back legs out, tail straight out....like he is shocked that he CAN do that and not bump the sides!!

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I was wondering what happened to this guy. Did he continue to improve for you? Whatever the case, I am sure his life ended up a lot better because of your rescue :)

Although you're right to be angry I think it's not the previous owner you should be angry at. Some people are just ignorant of cham care and trust the shop they buy them from to give them good info. If anything it's the pet trade you should be mad at...

%^&£$%% Petsmart
