Mini Humidifier?

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyones ever tried putting a mini humidifier inside a tank? I was thinking in my head that this could be a great idea?

if its steam then probably not a good idea, ultra sonic? maybe.
i think just having one in the room is still just as good if not better (for the chams safety) but i dunno

Hmmm, gonna have to agree might not be too good an idea. All the humdifiers I have had tend to blow out pretty cold air. You might be able to get a mini table top one that blows out warm air though.

Never seen one small enoguh for a cage.. but its really easy to get some pvc pipe and run it to the cage. It MUST be a cool mist humidifier.

Thanks for the replies, saw some office top mini ones if you type it in google, but i guess for now might just get a fogger on a seconds timer. Thanks though!

I wouldnt recommend the fogger, a LOT of bad reviews on them. Better just to spend a little extra for a ultrasonic cool mist humidifier.

i got my ultrasonic cool mist from wallgreens i think there around 30 bucks i just added pvc pipe running from it to the top of the cages. :D

We've used the ZooMed reptifoggers with success in our retail locations, and many employees use them at home as well. The nice thing about them is that they are external from the cage but provide a fog through a tube that you can mount to the cage and add fog. You can also attach them to a piece of PVC pipe and drill holes into it, and then have a bank of fog that rolls into the cage. A couple of our stores use this for their cages, so that they can fog multiple cages at once.

In full mesh cages it can be hard to keep the humidity in, but adding the PVC pipe modification (or even just putting holes in the tube and running it around the outside of the cage) can add it in a more efficient way. Not gonna lie, it also looks pretty freaking cool to have the fog rolling down in your cage!

Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but a fogger and an ultrasonic humidifier use the same technology. One is just a smaller version of the other.

FWIW, I tried using an ultrasonic humidifier inside a screen cage full of foliage but the unit didn't last long. I took it apart and found the mechanical parts were getting wet and eventually corroded. Now I leave the humidifier outside the cage and use a pvc or flexible tube to direct the fog inside.

I suspect the small humidifier would need refilling a lot, and if it ran dry while you were gone it might kill the unit.
