Minimum temperature that roaches can survive

Does anybody know at what temperature roaches start dying if kept outside? I want to keep them in an insulated closet in my balcony but for the winter the minimum temperatures we're gonna get are around 40s

Mine started kicking the bucket at 55f, and still were not happy at 60f. I ended up wintering them in a closet to keep the humidity up, and its between 63-65f, but at least they are eating and making noise. Below that they just group together waiting for the end, no movement or feeding.

Was the closet already in the mid 60s or did you add any source of heat?

No heat added the closet is in the basement, no air flow. I tried keeping them in the utility room next to an outer wall, but that room stays in the mid 50's, and they stopped eating and i started having die offs within a few weeks.

As long as you have a heat pad you can pretty much keep them any where in the winter I keep mine in my garage and we’re in the 50s here at night and the pad keeps them in the 80s

I got it at Walmart 10$ and so far it’s done the job it has no auto shut off also it’ll be the cheapest one there in the isle that has the pads
