I need to purchase a mist system since I will be going to school in September
I DON'T have that much money and the Mist king is by far one of the best misters for the the chameleons. Are there any mist systems that get the job done for very cheap. ?

It won't mist in the same way as a mistking but if the goal is to increase humidity then a simple setup can be used: cool mist humidifier (the kind you can get from walgreens for people) hooked up to PVC pipes to direct it to the cage directly and a dripper for drinking purposes. Works well for me and was only as expensive as the humidifier. If your cham doesn't drink well from a dripper though I'd say spend the extra for the mistking.

No there really aren't any musters out there that r cheap. There is the habbamister but that's a piece of junk, it not even worth the $60.if you really need a mister there's only o e solution, just bite the bullet and buy the MistKing. It's only about $110 with shipping. That what I picked mine up for and it has been the best investment I have made so far for my Cham. If you go cheap you will only end up wasting your money and have to buy the MistKing anyway. So you should just make the right decision to start off with it will save you a lot of money in the long run! I have heard of people making their own but it doesn't end up to be much cheap. But the MistKing is a great high quality mister and will last a long time it is a great investment and truly the only way to go. The MistKing in my opinion is most likely the best Misting system for your buck.

At first I did try buying one of the cool mist humidifiers for like $30 at target but I ended up returning it a few days later. The problem I had with this was I would have had to purchase a on off cycling timer for it which is not cheap. Also it is a cool mist humidifier which does actually produce a cooldish air. My Cham did not like the cold foggy air blowing in his cage. It lowered the over all temp of the cage and did not really produce great results for me. For the extra $70 I decided the MistKing was the only way to keep the cage moist and humidity up. The mist that comes out my Cham loves he sits under the mist. The water actually collects on the screen and plants so he can drink off of unlike the humidifiers. They don't produce much water collection on the plants.

Timers for christmas lights are $3 and they work beautifully. I actually liked the cool mist because in Texas it's generally too hot so it helped maintain my temp gradients. I guess it depends on where you live.

Yea I guess give it a shot. I personally and other will agree it doesn't do much for the money. U will still have to mist as much as u do with out the cool mist humidifier. The temp differences doesn't really matter because Theseus is inside and most people have their air on when it a 100 degrees out. I just figured I would in form u of the uselessness of the humidifier speaking from my own personal experience. I was using tha most of the day and misting over 5 times a day and my Cham showed signs of dehydration. His urine started to turn yellowish because there was times out of the day I wasn't home to mist. But good luck with it I just feel it's better to be safe than sorry and my chamois health comes first to anything. I look at it like the extra little bit of money is well with it. And it can go off 8 set times a day for how ever long u want it to. This is the only way to actually keep the humidity up at a respectful level and provide moving wat for your Cham. The humidifier does provide a mist its like a light fog which chamois can drink from that. But I don't want sound like I am putting u down in this idea but I started out thinking the same as u a cheap wa to solve this problem. Well I found out the hard way and there is o ly one solution MistKing.

-1 for the habbamister. It's more of a sprayer. Does almost nothing for me and humidity. Keeps my plants watered though. Lol. Don't bother with it IMHO. I have not bought an alternative yet.

GO with Aquazamp, its american made an kevin is awesome to work with an knows what hes talkin bout and im sure he could hook ya up so ya wont haveta worry about mist while your away..
