Misting and dripper

Hi I'm new to this site and have been doing some research for my new little buddy Alphonse. He is a 3-4month nosy be and be will be shipped here on Tuesday. Anyway, I need to get a mister and figured you could probably help me out. I figure you may not have a straight answer but could send me in the right direction. I'm on a bit of a budget so maybe one that's not 100% over the top the best but will still do the job well. Any ideas on what kind I should get? And what's the best way to make my own dripper? Thanks in advance! -Sam

Don't cheap out on a mister. Mistking or aquazamp. That's it. The cheaper ones will break on you. Mk basic is like 100 bucks.

As for a dripper, go check out a little dripper at the pet store. If you dont wanna buy it, check out the nozzle on it and fins it at home depot and connect it to a bin or something like that.

I bought the basic MistKing setup and build homemade rain dome to attach the mister to. Then I put a homemade dripper on the inside of the dome, so everytime the mistking goes off, it fills the dripper up and gives the cage mist and rain at the same time.

iv got an exoterra monsoon mister and it works great! Cost me around i think just over 100 at the local reptile shop. as for a dripper, just get some fish pump tubing along with a splitter and drill a hole in the bottom of a plastic tub or cup stick the tube in and use the splitter to adjust how much drippage you have bam. might not sound simple but there are lots of posts on how to make drippers.

I learned the hard way when making my homemade dripper. I think it would have been better to place the tubing in the side of the container and not on the bottom. I did mine on the bottom and now I have to prop it up on a piece of wood so that the line doesn't kink.. Just a thought. :D

I bought my monsoon in the middle of May by the end of June the timer had gone bad - by going bad I mean it forgot to go on a couple of times and then thought it should go off and empty the tank - I stopped turning on at all last week- I have a aquazamp on order ... for a dripper I put a hole in a 1/2 gallon milk jug - and good drainage - I'm going to find something that looks a little better one day ....
If i include the price of the timer i got to "fix" my monsoon the aquazamp wasn't that much more - (he was having a sale)
