I have been trying to get molly to drink in front of me. I figured she has been drinking when i wasnt in the room and didn't think anything of it. Her skin looks really really dry and crackly. The amount of urate has been less and less recently. She still has a few places hanging with skin from shedding for 3-4 weeks now.

Is misting your cham on the back a good idea? I read this from a source on chameleon watering

Are there any other tricks to get her to drink more?

Does misting heavily and adding more dripping systems really work?

Doesnt misting your chameleon stress it out?

I think she's too little for a shower.
Just keep misting her ... but let the enclosure dry out between sessions.
It really does encourage them to drink.
I think you may be worrying too much:)

My Veiled doesn't drink while I'm there. Lol, my chameleon doesn't even like the water.

I guess i am just worried because she used to drink all of the time in front of me, as soon as i put it on. Her skin looks horrible its all wrinkly. Do chameleons need to get their skin wet? (maybe that is what is wrong-i try not to spray her)

I don't think they really care. If they would be in the wild, when it rains, they would get wet. :)

My little guy HATES it when I spray him if the water is too cold or too hot he just runs away. It needs to be about the temperature where if you put your hand in the cup you can't really feel it. When i do it with that temp he actually comes a little bit closer to the mister and just seems to almost smile. After I am done misting with this temperature of water it seems to up his appetite and he drinks a lot of water.

Of course your little girl may be 100% different but still something to think about.

Thanks everyone, i'm going to mist the crap out of the cage when she wakes up tomorrow! >:) Of course, i'll let it dry inbetween mistings but i'll see how it goes!

About the title of this thread- The source I read said the best way to get your cham to drink is mist them on the back while water is dripping around them. That just seemed a little too involved for me. I tried misting her directly once and she hissed at me. :(

She might be ready to shed again soon!

Holy **** ! Brad you were right! I misted her 4 times, the last one at 2 pm, i was going to mist her 2 hours later and shes a mass of white flaky skin. I really should stop worrying about her. LOL

P.S.
I feel really stupid >.<
