Misting Question

I just got my Mistking set up and it is misting for 10 seconds at 8, 10, 12, 2, and 4. My guy seems to really like the mist- comes out and get very wet. My question is with this much misting, do you still need the dripper. I have found the dripper difficult to regulate and he has never shown much interest.

I started with my mistking only going off 1 min at a time, but I do 5 min now at 7am, 10am, 1pm, and 5pm and it seemed to help my guy drink better. I have a rain nozzle attachment that sprays the top of the screen to make it drip like rain drops and a basic nozzle in the right back corner. I still use a dripper bottle that I just set on top of my lights to drip directly from the nozzle on the bottle without a piece of tubing that it came with, to land on a leave near a branch, and my guy still loves the dripper more than anything. I catch him underneath where it drips with his mouth open or letting it hit his nose and he drinks. and he will do this for 30 min at a time! With all the equipment I have, the cheap plastic dripper bottle has to be one of the best things I got for him lol If the dripper is going less than a drip per second, he won't notice it

Glad to hear you got a mister! I don't think 10 seconds is long enough... Most people recommend 2-3 minutes (or 5-10 depending on your drainage/quantity of misters)

I have 6 misters across 2 cages going for 2 minutes every 3 hours (I would love to do 5 minutes but I'd flood my room)

Any reason you picked 10 seconds?

You are right-10 seconds is not long enough.I picked that number based on someone else' s recommendation. However, he is only 3 months and it is a small cage, 12 x 24 x 24. I am afraid 5 minutes would flood the place. I will go play around with it.

Do you run your mister ever 3 hours day and night?

Today I ran the Mistking for 2 minutes at 8, 10, 12, 2, and 4. Was gone most of the day and when I returned there was a LOT of water on floor of cage. So tomorrow I will go to 1 minute. But I also finally got dripper adjusted to a reasonable rate. Does anyone else have problems getting dripper rate adjusted-seems like it is either way too much or practically none.

More than a problem w dripper. My dripper is more touchy than my chameleon itself

I have a 11 weeks old male Veiled. My current enclosure set up is a 16x16x30 Exo-Terra Flexarium with a mistking along with a dripper. My real foliage is a center umbrella and diagonally lined with a croton and a dracaena.

My misting is currently set up for 3 minute sessions at 12pm, 3pm and 6pm with my dripper bewteen 11am-7pm and my lights are set at 9am-9pm. Is this too much misting for my cham(Kiddo)?

You really need to get some sort of drainage set up. I kid you not, it will change your life! How you do it depends on a lot of things. You might want to search for "drainage" and see if you get any good ideas.

Is this post referring to my current setup on my misting and water dripper? If so, yes I do have a proper drainage set up that can hold water up to a week or possibly more, but I have never waited more than a week to empty the drainage water :)

Also, if that post is referring to my misting and dripper set up; is it too much misting or not enough?
