Misting time question!

Hello everyone. I just got a mist King system. I am pretty excited haha and my Panther loves it. After I set it up and turned it on he sat under the mist and then drank like crazy!

My question is how long and how often do you run it for? Like what is the average time of mist and how many hours apart do you set it? I also don't want the cage to flood or have bacteria grow.

Any info that you guys have will be appreciated. Thank you

It depends on the species, I have a veiled my timer is to have lights on a 8am lights off 8pm misting starts at 8:45am for 1min 30secs every 2hrs and ends at 6:45pm in the winter/spring and summer/fall the misting duration is only one min since summer fall humidity is a lot higher. My veiled hates getting misted and I have never seen her drink but she always has good urates so I think this is good and I stay within parameters of the Veiled care sheet. Since you have a panther you may have to tweek your schedule a little differently and remember to account for humidity in your house and seasonal changes if you have them it takes some trial and error.

If i would myst 1min 30sec every 2 hours i would have an aquarium in a day...

I have 3 nozzles in the enclosure and I myst 20seconds for 3x a day. I also have a dripper in the enclosure and an air humidifier in the room.

my pump may be a little strong since it goes up to 6 nozzles

Well there you go I have a small pump with one misting nozzel I go through 1 gal of distilled water a week I get no flooding.
