Mistking advice!

So I've been procrastinating on installing my mistking starter system just due to being over worked and tired. I know many of you have this system and I have heard nothing but good, so today I'm going to hook it up tired or not. My question for you is once setup how do you guys prevent the mist from over misting through the cage screen as in once it mists how do you prevent spray from just getting every where on the floor around the cage? I have drainage and I have two pieces of corrugated plastic on two of the back walls of my screen enclosure to somewhat prevent water from going through the mesh but anyone else have ideas. I've never had a mister system this is a first, so honestly I don't even know if it will over mist through the screen, I'm only guessing this because when I water bottle spray it has a bit of an over mist, thus I just want to be prepared! And yes I've read the full manual and know how to set everything up it's just a matter of containing the mist inside my screen.

Any help, advice , experience with this would help me out otherwise I'm just goin with the flow lol

Thanks guys!

The mist will be so fine if you angle it in the right direction and have enough plants in the enclosure along with you have the screen covered in plastic and drainage you should be good to go. Is your cage 24x by 24x or smaller? Just set you timer to 1 min and test how wet it gets things in that duration.

Yep, normally you can angle the nozzle to keep the mist from exiting. I have two double nozzles in my enclosure and unless Zaphod moves one I don't have any issues with over-spray.

Yes I have a 2x2x48 and yeah I read the water almost comes out as a fog at 50 microns. I hope your right or my girl will be pissed with a wet ground lol but here's the setup in the attached pic

I agree with what they are all saying about positioning. I also cut up a clear plastic shower curtain and attached it to the outside of the screen on three sides. This way, the humidity stays high, and if the nozzles get knocked out of place, it isn't a big deal. Shower curtains are cheap, easy to cut and use, and you can still see through them to enjoy viewing from all angles!

That's a great idea with the shower curtain as the corrugated plastic isn't cheap. I have the mistking wedge so hopefully it doesn't move around. Thanks for the input definitely going to use a shower curtain on the third side, only reason I had it open was for viewing

One word of advice if you cup feed, you may need to position leaves so they don't drip into the feeders. Feeders don't generally like swimming pools .
No cup feeding I let my feeders roam free as I like to watch the hunt! I do have a magnetic feeder cup coming in from nick Barta that I'm going to try but it has a mesh bottom to prevent feeders drowning. Thanks for the Advice

So pretty much I should expect such a fine mist that there should be little to no over spray plus correct positioning of the nozzle is key.

Thanks everyone if I'm not on this forum in a few days it's probably because my girlfriend killed me from a wet floor lol

I have two mistking systems, one for inside and one for the outside. Mistking is the best. Imo

I put a small bug cup with the perforated lid right under the misting tip on to catch the dripping water on the bottom of the cage. I do have the dripless system but my tubing run is to far for me to bring it back to the reservoir.

I just installed my first mistking for my fist cham last week and other then a little trouble programming it its amazing. I had the same concern about over mist through the screen but it all stays inside. A fantastic product in my opinion!

This is great to hear as this is my first misting system also. Thanks

I agree the mist is so fine it does not hit the outside.

I will prepare a memorial service for you, just in case. Please remember me in your will. I can take excellent care of your lizard babies!

I warm the water in the hose before it gets to my babies, they really appreciate getting misted with warm water rather than cold....
I do the same when hand misting, how to you warm the water that's in the reservoir thought?
