Pachira aquatica AKA Horse Chesnut, AKA money tree is toxic. Google the scientific name. They don't provide much in lateral branching anyway and there are better plant choices.

I also read that it [Money Tree] is toxic and would not take a chance since there are so many safe plants. But I have also learned that if Extensionofgreen says that they're toxic, then they're toxic. If Extensionofgreen says they're safe, then they're safe.

If you can't return it, at least you bought a nice plant, and they are supposed to bring luck. I was going to buy one since they look nice and appear hearty, but I did not have a shopping cart and couldn't carry any more in my arms that day.
