Moss in bioactive

Trying to think of ways to optimize the space in a bioactive enclosure. In trying to maximize the amount of green it occurred to me to add moss to the substrate. Is this a viable option?

Well, yes and no. You want to add a small amount of moss (I chop it up) mixed in with all of the other components of your substrate. But, you do not want to leave any just hanging out on the top as you most definitely do not want to risk that your chameleon could eat it while hunting isopods or that escaped feeder.

Are you saying you want to add live moss to the top of the substrate? not sure the humidity levels for our chameleons is high enough to keep live moss green

I had moss in my parson’s enclosure since they’re kept fairly humid with long misting. It did very well in certain spots that got a lot of water and light. Other parts lacked enough moisture/light. I guess it depends on the type of moss.
