Mouth Rot

Exactly how does one get mouth rot? What actually causes it? And how long does it usually take to clear up if taken to the vet early? Or later?

The sooner its treated the better. Usually if the area isn't cleaned out properly, it will recur. Having a culture and sensitivity test done will allow the right antibiotic to be chosen. Some of the bacteria involved in it can be quite stubborn and often more than one treatment is needed.
