Moving Advice

Hey guys,

We are moving in just a couple of days and I have Espio's carrier all set up and ready to go. The movers are coming at 8 am and I'll move Espio over to his carrier right before we leave. He will be riding up to my new house with my Mom and brother who are helping with the move instead of with me because I'll have the dog and I don't want him to knock over Espio's carrier.

Since the movers are coming so early I was just wondering if I should feed him in the morning before the movers come or wait until I can get him set up at the new place? What do y'all think? It'll be dark in his carrier so he can sleep so he won't have any light to help him digest his crickets if I feed him before we leave. But at the same time, I don't want him to be starving the whole trip. He gets very angry at me if I sleep past 8:30 because that's when his breakfast normally is. lol.

I think he'll be fine either way so I'm leaning towards saying feeding him just because some won't eat for a few days when settling in to a new place so atleast he'd of had a good feed before.
If for example your cham ate something just before light out it'll be fine throughout the night so I don't see it being a problem for a few hours. I'm not sure if the stress would cause any problems but I would assume that when people ship chams when they sell them they've been recently fed and never heard of it causing a problem.

Thanks guys! Breakfast it is! Espio will probably be much happier that way. I accidentally slept in till 9 30 this morning. His lights go on automatically, but he was ticked that breakfast was late. I've never seen him eat so fast. Those poor crickets didn't stand a chance.

I would just feed him before you pack him up. Like others said he may skip a few meals after the move. Some of mine are picky from a move and others have eaten during the move as I sometime leave a few feeders for the trip.
Maybe having a few of his fav snacks on hand for when u get to the new place would help his transition
