ok i have began setting up an enclosure for a baby veiled chameleon. it is a 2x1x1 all screen cage so far the onlything i have added is bio-vines across the cage. i want to add some pothos and maybe a small hibiscus tree. i also have a mister hooked to it. i have paper-towels for substrate. now i want to get the lighting right. i was wondering if i can use a 100 watt solar glo mvb bulb for a baby chameleon if i suspended it 12" above the top of the enclosure? also would a reptiglo 5.0 work if the uvb is a no go?i have used both of these bulbs for other lizards ie. tegus, beardies ect and they work great but i now they are basking lizards. any help is greatly appreciated thanks!

I used a 100w megaray above my veiled when I got him. It was at about the same height to just provide the UV and some general warmth to the enclosure. You'll need a small basking site, I used a 20w bulb. It was pathetic, but it kept his basking spot at the right temperature and gave him somewhere he could see was meant for basking!

I now use a reptisun 5.0 tube, but they're all roughly the same anyway.

you know after giving it some thought; i have decided to go with the 5.0 just to be on the safe side!
