Hi everyone,
I'm new here but have been reading a lot of posts in the past. My little baby Midori passed away last week and I'm in shambles.
She was a 4 year old female veiled. I loved her dearly and miss her more than anything.
In December 2024 she started falling off her branch, so we took her into the vet who said she was eggbound and showing signs of MBD. I'm not sure what happened because she was totally fine before and nothing changed. The vet spotted something in her x-ray and thought it was a cluster of eggs. She had her surgery last week to remove her eggs but it turns out the "cluster" was a cancerous tumour
My husband and I did everything we could for her, we didn't hold back on any of her vet bills and I told the vet that I didn't care about the costs, just as long as I could keep my baby alive. She passed away 5 days after her surgery... We kept her in the ICU chamber after her surgery and she seemed to be doing better, but just deteriorated rapidly on the 5th day. Even the vet cried and she told me Midori was the strongest and cutest chameleon they've ever treated.
I can't stop crying anytime I think about her. I miss her morning greetings (hissing at me). I miss her funny faces. I miss her so much.
