My Cham loves his "jungle gym" we've temporarily set up for him until I have the time to turn my spare room into a free range/home space for him. He was being quite milly so I put him on his jungle gym and left to continue doing my make up. I'm usually on it with him but I got side tracked & realized that almost ten minutes had past since I checked on him (his jungle gym area is near his enclosure in a walk in closet.) I ran to the room, opened the door & he was gone! My heart sank but I knew he was safe from my other pets in there; I still began to panic. I began slowly looking at all the areas he could possibly make his way up from the floor to the upper shelf, carefully checking each jacket & stack of my hubby's construction clothes that may have a little lizard clinging to it. Nothing. I went down on my knees and began to carefully search the lower areas and still no Mr. Wags. I looked under the dresser, still no Scallywags. I was sitting on my knees scanning & listening for some movement, really beginning to freak when suddenly I felt a cold, tight grasp on my pinky toe. I looked over my shoulder & there he was...looking up at me. My body was flooded with relief. I have no clue where he came from as I scanned the entire floor for him, but thankfully he came to me. Please put this one in your pocket for later. Im kicking myself for spacing in him for that small window of time. Contrary to what some may say, Chams can move pretty fast if they want and can disappear pretty quickly. This is a lesson I will not forget and I thought I'd share. Thankfully it ended well.
