to help my chameleon with hydration..
I want to start introducing silkworms for him.
But how old is my veiled chameleon has to be be4 he's ready to eat one?
(he's 3 months and a week old).

And where can i buy a small amount of silkworms (I want to make sure he like them be4 i buy a whole batch) around south CA?
Unfortunately mulberryfarms.com is unavailable since the fire incident.

I bought extra small silkies for my 2 1/2 months old Veiled and he is doing just fine.

Mullberry farms. I am not sure about the plastic, I would say no. They are shipped in a plastic container. I have what is left in a 10 gal. plastic tote with no problems so far.

No.
You're thinking of zophoba worms (which have never chewed out of anything here).
Coastal is where I would order from. They are a sponsor of these forums.
Your cham is big enough to take on small silkworms. Since they are so soft bodied the size of the feeder rules don't really apply.

I feed silkies to my other lizards and when I run out of the mediums for my cham, i'll throw him a larger worm and as Brad mentioned being soft bodied, my 5 month old cham smashes them down, no problem!
