I don’t know how or if I can post a video. But my veiled chameleons horn is swollen on both sides more on one than the other. I’m not sure why and I’m wondering if anyone has seen something similar happen to theirs? Please let me know! Thank you!!!

You need to post a video to a secondary platform like youtube then share the link here.
You can use the attach files to post pics.
This would be helpful. A Veiled chameleon does not have a horn. So I am not sure what exactly your talking about. Maybe the casque?

Yes sorry I meant casque. But here are some pictures. Also there is some blood or something at the top on the left side.

I replied to someone’s comment with pictures, you can take a look if you would like and yes I meant casque. Sorry

This chameleon needs a vet with reptile experience preferably chameleon experience. Looks like an infection in the casque maybe from a thermal burn. Could be an abscess. This really is not something you can leave untreated.

Please fill out the help form with detail so we can assist with husbandry changes and take pics of the entire enclosure lighting down.

+1.

I am not a vet, but it appears to me that that is an infection, and may require antibiotics.

kayleek, Please take your cham to a herp vet.
There are threads in the shaded green area at the top of the of the Health Clinic section that can help you find a herp vet near you.

i took her to the vet yesterday and the swelling went down tremendously. The doctor said to just wait a few days and to see what happens.

she also said to check the temperature in the cage but how would I do that if it is an all screen cage?

Get a reptile thermometer with a probe; put the probe on or just above the main basking branch, wait a few minutes, then check the temp...should be 80-85. Then, put the probe at the closest point to the bulb that your chameleon can reach. Temp should be less than 95. Again, your Sunray is not a good bulb if you don’t own a solar meter.

Did they say it was an infection or a burn? How did they treat it? It is not normal for their casque to just swell up like that.
