  • History - He was diagnosed with constipation and MDB a 4-5 weeks ago

Cage Info:
  • Cage Type - Screen cage, 50x50x70

  • Humidity - I have a fogger and i mist him a lot
  • Plants - no

Current Problem - he is diagnosed with MDB 4 weeks ago and now he doesnt move at all, and when i put him on the flat surface with a towel he doesnt even look like he can lift his head up. I really need help, i cannot loose him, i will kill myself

Get rid of the fountain, they don't and shouldn't drink out of it. It's weird, I know, but it is the truth. That is probably why his poop is orange. Mist 2-3 times a day, if he is dehydrated, I'd mist more.
He needs calcium with D3 twice a month to digest the calcium supplement. That will help the MBD
Meal worms are crap, get some supers. And do NOT feed them every day, that will fix the constipation.
That's all I can think right now, I'm so sorry about your cham, I will definitely be praying for him. What's his name?

This is what you said in another post and my comments to each part I feel needed changing. Did you make the changes??

Chameleon Info:

  • Your Chameleon - Panther Chameleon, A little over a year old. A male.
  • Handling - Once Every 2 days
  • Feeding - I feed him crickets and meal worms. Are the chameleons fed and gutloaded properly? What do you feed and gutload them with? I would use something besides mealworms in addition to the crickets.
  • Supplements - I do not use supplements a lot You should be dusting the insects lightly just before feeding them to the chameleon with a phosphorous-free calcium powder at almost every feeding. You should be dusting them twice a month with a phosphorous-free calcium/D3 powder and twice a month with a vitamin powder. And you should be feeding and gutloading the insects properly.
  • Watering - I have a fountain for him and i also spray his cage everyday fountains have to be cleaned out almost every day. You should be misting the chameleon and using a dripper.
  • Fecal Description - He has not been tested for parasites ever. His poop is a little yellow. His recent one looks like there are seeds in them. His feces (poop) should be brown and his urates should be white. Seeds? Maybe parasites? Maybe insect eggs? We can't tell without seeing it.
  • History - He is always very hyper and loves climbing onto me everytime im near. but now he is just not moving and he looks like hes going to fall. Post some photos. Sounds like he's dying.
Cage Info:
  • Cage Type - Screen cage. About 40cm tall and 20cm width and length This is too small for a one year old panther chameleon.
  • Lighting - I currently put him on my balcony which is about 25c most of the time. In the sun?? No shade??? No plants to give shade??
  • Temperature - Not sure since i put him on the balcony
  • Humidity - 76% since i live in hong kong, and i also spray his cage sometimes.
  • Plants - no
  • Placement -I live 18 floors high, its on a balcony
  • Location - Hong kong
  • Current problem: he isnt moving a lot and his eyes are closed. he doesnt move when i poke him or he looks like he will fall Sounds like he's dying.

Please quit making more than one post about the same chameleon so we can follow what's happening without having to read many posts about the same chameleon.

If you are keeping his temperatures right, feeding/supplementing him properly, feeding him properly fed/gutloaded insects, providing him with proper UVB and doing what is needed to correct the MBD you should be seeing improvements in his behavior. If he's not improving then something else is wrong with him as well....or the treatment is not being done properly. I don't know what else I can tell you to help him.
Good luck.

Yes, i have made a lot of changes, i now have a fogger, i raised the tempature.

I just wanted to ask that if a chameleon has MBD will he be normal or will he be tired and sleep during the day? I put my chameleon in a small container with a towel on the floor, he isnt moving

Currently he is too weak to be eating insects, the temp is right, and everything u said is right, i think the problem is that he ate too much meal worms and has constipation and is oversize for his age, he has super low bone density according to what doctor said

You said..."I just wanted to ask that if a chameleon has MBD will he be normal or will he be tired and sleep during the day? I put my chameleon in a small container with a towel on the floor, he isnt moving"...he will be tired if the temperature is low because he will think it's time to go to sleep or be too cool to digest his food which may make him constipated. The MBD will also slow his muscles/digestion/constipationetc down because calcium plays a part in muscle contractions.

I showed you the youtube thing because the method of touching his lip is also a way to get him to open his mouth to take stuff out of a syringe without having to pull down the skin under his chin and risk hurting him or hurting his tongue.

What youtube thing, the Force Feed video? it doesnt work no matter how much i do

My other chameleon, Panther Female, has her mouth opened for a minute or to, her head is not facing up, i do not hear any sounds, and she does it at night, with the lights off, her neck is also swollen but i did some research and it means she has to much supplements, whenever i drip some water in front of her she runs away

You said..." neck is also swollen but i did some research and it means she has to much supplements,"...be aware that it's NOT calcium supplements that cause the throat swelling and sometimes females get the swelling without having a supplement issue. It's usually too much vitamin A that causes it if it's related to supplements...because they get that swelling from organ/kidney failure too.

Do you know how long MBD last? because my chameleon is clearly getting a little bit more active, but his eyes keep suddenly bulging and always is mostly closed

I’m seeing a lot of about you stressing about yeah I know you want and are doing your best but killing yourself over an animal is NOT okay!
Do what you can and if it dies just be more knowledgeable about the species you keep. I’d stop feeding meal worms to them it’s horrible for them and way out of its natural habitat. Doing to much handling is a big issue with these animals so I’d keep that at a minimum. Make sure if you have or are planning on getting real plants it is chameleon safe like a ficus tree pothos (ivy) or umbrella plant and it’s imparitive you take the soil to bare root wash it throughly and the leaves with some disinfectant cleaner from the pet store to get all the pesticides and fertilizers out I can’t stay that enough! Every other day is good feeding. Make your you have a basting spot that is consistent with species ideal heat. Keep the humidity up to at least 70% that’s very important. I hope your panther progresses and I hope you are alright personally!

MBD lasts until you get the bones and muscles, etc strong again in the chameleon and will return if you don't supplement properly, provide proper basking and cage temperatures, provide proper UVB, feed/gutload the insects properly etc.

Have you made the corrections to your care for this chameleon that we suggested? Did you get live plants, provide proper supplements, proper temperatures in the cage you have him in his? Water him properly? Did you listen to all the other info we gave you?
There is only so much we can do. You have to do what is needed too.
