I have been lurking on here for about a year now and am the owner of a 1 1/2 year old female veiled named Kira. I have been looking into diy misters that made a finer mist and read all the posts on here but wanted something I didn't need to pump. Since I also wanted it to go to my day geckos cage I really couldn't afford a mistking so here is what I came up with.
I found this sprayer on sale for $16.99, the regular price is $27.99.
It runs on 4 D batteries, which = 6 volts so I got a universal wall adapter that has a 6 volt option and connected it to the negative and positive battery terminals and plugged into a timer. Its only been a few days but so far its working great! A USB cord and 5 volt cell phone charger worked but it was more like a very fine rain instead of a mist.
Total for everything was $25 but I already had the wall adapter. It is a little loud but I stuck it behind the cage stand with a folded towel on top to muffle the sound.
