This is the first chameleon I ever bred--the only other clutch I hatched were a gracilior that was imported gravid so that doesn't count. Fingers crossed for the other nine eggs. These are quad quads.

Congrats I know a lot of time, patience, and effort went into you breeding these guys.. Not to mention money... Lol.. But really I remember seeing you first posting here about how you were going to breed them and people telling you that you wouldn't succeed with the Texas heat. Guess this is that big FU moment haha... Congrats hope they keep coming

This is great! Congrats!! You might have already answered this, but how long did it take the eggs to start hatching? I've herd it takes a long time.

Congratulations,
what a exciting time for you. Best of luck on the other eggs. Now the real fun begins! How long is a baby Quad Quad ? Keep the pics coming.

Maybe this picture will give you an idea of the size.

Brownie64, the eggs were laid June 27th, so these eggs were just over 5 months to hatch. I incubated them on the cool side.

I got a real scare this morning. I left the baby in the box of eggs in the incubator last night and when I opened it up this morning I saw what I thought was a dying baby--black, lying on its side and barely moving even when I touched it. Silly me, it was just sleeping. I'm such a novice!

Congrats Janet! They are so cute. Hope all goes well with these guys and your female.

Thanks Tylene. The mother is not in a good way. She went down into a hole again today but I did see her eat a couple of little silk worms on her own after she came up. I gave her .4mls of water and liquid calcium. I hate manhandling her when she is feeling so poorly. She looks reasonably good--hydrated and she isn't skinny, but she's not doing well at all. I hope it is just from exhaustion and the oxytocin. It is possible she ruptured her uterus or whatever a chameleon uterus is called with the oxytocin.

Hope she pulls through for you. I know what you are going through. There is only so much we can do to help them, but that doesn't make it any easier. Enjoy those babies!

Thanks. Any suggestions? I wrote in more detail in a thread in the Breeding forum.

Three left and two of the three have pipped. Here are pictures of two of the babies. One died--the yolk was huge and filled with blood even though it hadn't ruptured.
