My first chameleon

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to share a picture of my first cham. I got from Pardalisgirl on 12/30/09 he is 4 months old and was sired by the late Otto. On the couple of occasions that I have tried to photograph him he usually goes dark and hides from me. But this afternoon I tried again and he remained fairly calm. So far this is the best picture of him. Thanks for this little guy Catherine, I still haven't named him yet.

Good photo!

You did manage to get a good shot of him Justin :) I think a lot of forum members remember Otto. Forum member Royden had him and then sent him to me for breeding. He was an awesome male Veiled. A photo of Otto's chin is Royden's Avatar. A link to Royden's gallery with pictures of Otto is below:

Julirs is getting a female as soon as Florida becomes warmer than Washington state

Justin built a great cage for his new boy and has spent hours figuring out how to provide him with everything he needs. This little guy couldn't have gone to a more devoted keeper. It's going to be great watching this male grow up. At four months he already looks studly :)

How is he 4 months old? Mine isn't even that size:confused:

According to pardalisgirl he hatched out on 8/30/09 and he is approximately 8 inches long from snout to the tip of his tail when she shipped him to me. He may appear large as I used a 100mm macro lens on my camera which enabled me to get a close up shot of him.

He is four months old.....He hatched the day after a chameleon forum open house I had at the end of August. The female Julirs is getting hatched the morning of the open house and my fellow forum members who came to the open house got to look at her. Pam Reid (Pam's Chams) had Julirs female on her finger. They are a good size for their age though. The female was a wild caught. They are all eating full size crickets at four months. There are a couple in the clutch that are a bit smaller but it's been a great clutch with rapid growth and very vivid markings for their age :p

5 months old now

So I figured I would update this thread instead of starting a new one. I have named him "Oz" and he is now 5 months old. I have had him in my care for one month and he is currently weighing in at 46 grams. Here are some pictures. The 1st is him during a shed. The 2nd is from today, he refused to be measured. And the 3rd also from today. With all the rain lately the sun actually came out this morning while I was weighing him. So I took him over to the window and held him in the sun light and he turned this color. I put him down on the window sill so I could snap the picture. I can;t wait until it warms up here so I can take him outside.
