Congrats on the new cham! Please click the link below, copy and paste, and answer the questions so we can accurately provide you with help. To answer some of your concerns...it is normal for your new chameleon to not eat and will show signs of stress for a week or so. They are trying to adjust to their new environment and should be left alone with the exception of feeding, misting, and cleaning. Also, your cage appears to be way too small for a 6-7 month old chameleon. My guess is you have a veiled. Try to be descriptive as possible when answering, so we can help you get on the right path. :)

P.S. Some pictures of your chameleon and his cage would really help!

Also, here are the caresheets for whichever chameleon you own.

Your cage isn't correct for a cham. It is way too small, should not contain bedding, and needs a lot of LIVE potted plants to provide surfaces to lick water from and to hide in instead of a drift wood log. If the pet shop gave you the caging information they really got it wrong. Sorry, but it is going to cause a lot of problems over time. He's doing the leaf walk and not eating because he is so distracted and stressed in the setup you have now.

I would suggest reading this forum's "basic chameleon care" information and look at examples of other keepers' cages. You'll see that you need to change it quite a bit. The information you find here is great, so you can trust it!

i can tell you hes defiantly not 7 months old his eyes are closed it could mean hes sick or it maybe the new uvb it sometimes hurts young chams eyes

Kristina,

You really need to take a look at the "Care Resources" link to the left of this page. You have a lot that is wrong right now. Chameleons are delicate creatures and a simple thing as having the wrong UVB bulb light is enough to cause unnecessary stress that could lead to death of your pet. Get rid of the substrate at the bottom of your tank as it could possibly could lead to impaction if eaten. Replace the red bulb light with a regular incandescent bulb since red light is unnatural to them. Your UVB bulb looks intensely bright from the picture and could be causing him eye problems. You don't have nearly enough plants for him to feel safe. I would really recommend that you fill out the "ask for help" link that I've provided on my previous comment. The more descriptive you are about the product and your methods, the better we will be able to help you correct these issues and get your chameleon back to being healthy.

People are telling us so many different things people told me to get those lights other people are telling me difftent lights people say he is just adjusting so he isn't eating other people say he's sick like I said I'm getting the reptibreeze chameleon kit this weekend when I get paid will he be ok by then???
