My new chameleon was delivered early

I purchased a baby chamelon and the breeder agreed to ship it on September 19th. I don't have a set up for him yet and worse I'm going out of town for two weeks and the thought of my mom watching my one baby was scary enough. Well for some reason I called into work sick today. Was just about to take a nap when the doorbell rings. I look out the window and there's a FedEx truck. Not sure of what it could be I opened the door and there was a box left on my door with the live animal sticker. It's 104 out right now mind you. I opened the package and sure enough it's my new little one. He was very eager to come out. The problem is I don't have an enclosure for him as I didn't expect him to arrive until September 19th. Is he ok going back in his shipping container for a nap while I scramble to go get him a home. Or what else should I do with him while I go get him everything he needs? I contacted the breeder and he apologized. Said he had a crazy shipping day and forgot to hold him. Thank god I was home. He would have cooked outside as it's going to reach 110.

It should be fine in the delli cup for a few hours. A better option would be shoe box with some holes poked in it. Bare in mind that your #1 priority right now is to get them hydrated. They might not eat for several days, but they need water ASAP.

What's the best way to get him hydrated since he doesn't have an enclosure I can mist down. Mist him down on my hand?

The box was very warm when I was opening it. He looks fine though, just has a couple rubs on him.

Pop him in a house plant, and mist. When i got mine early, i popped him on a door screen, and sprayed him directly, and he drank just fine by catching whatever hit his face.

Thanks everyone. He seems to be settling in. Poor guy had the toughest day as he was shipped then had to hang around while I made his home. After getting him set up he had some crickets and roaches.
