My veiled eating too much plant?

My cham has been eating a lot of the plant I put in his cage last week. More then usual. Just about every morning he has been eating some of it. Is this bad? I have always had live plants in his enclosure, but once I put this new plant in he has been eating it a lot more then he ever has before.

What kind of plant is it? There are some plants on the safe list that are toxic when eaten in large quantities. I am new to this whole plant thing so I really don't know what a large quantity would be.

We need to know the name of the plant. If possible by the scientific name as some plants can share the same common name. It's a little bit more accurate when searching for toxicity.

......

I have read before that veileds will eat plants when they are dehydrated. The kind of plant is very important also, if it is toxic the veiled would of realized by now from it making him sick.

not necessarily, remember the triceratops from Jurassic park?

okay maybe thats not a real example.

heres a good example, when my beagle was a puppy she ate a bunch of c9 christmaslight bulbs when we had them laid out in the lawn. im assuming she bit into one, tasted blood. (her own from being cut) and them decided all lightbulbs were blood flavored. so she ate a ton. she pooped rainbows btw

my point being an animal isnt going to know if something is toxic just by eatting it. the damage could already be done. ever see the movie or read the book "into the wild" guy went into the wild, was living there on his own, and then ate some berries. guess what happened next. he died. and it wasnt immediate either.

if its pothos they have oxylates which apparently bind to or keep the chameleons from metabolizing calcium. its not bad in moderation but if hes eatting half the plant id be a little concerned. ive had veileds that have taken a bunch of bites out of a pothos. but over time and infrequently with no apparent effect on health. even a gravid female.

if i were you id just remove it till you can find out what it is.
