my veiled seems to like her crickets dead?

For some reason my chameleon eats the dead crickets in her tank ,, usually the ones that fall in the cup that catches the drips from the drip system at the bottom of and i took her outside to feed her today and she ate sum live ones but i had to kill one becuz it got out of the cup and she went right for it after,,, my cham is still a baby... born at the end of june....
do you think i should buy those dead crickets and other insects??? and which ones are not healthy for her?

Chameleons are hard wired to eat living insects. If your cham ate a dead insect\ it's because it believed it was alive at the time.

Young chameleons have such a voracious appetite they tend to eat anything foreign in their cage. As they get older and their hunger isn't making them crazy in the head, they'll actually stop and watch to see if the insect is moving.

Don't ever feed dead insects to your cham. Live food only! Remove dead insects.
