Need advice on mister or fogger for petsitter while on vacation

Hi there!
I just found out my husbands taking me on a trip for our 20 year anniversary. While I am thrilled, I immediately worried about little Diesel. My SIL is going to be here with our human kids, 3 dogs, 3 fish tanks, 4 hermit crabs and Diesel. My priority for Diesel is to be sure his environment stays humid since I won't be here misting several times per day. Should I set up a misting system or do I need to worry about it harming D since he is so little? He usually takes cover when I mist and I try not to directly get him so I do not harm his eyes.
Thanks in advance for any helpful advice!
Lucy

100% you should get a mister. A lot of chameleons will run from the mist, especially young ones, but is' not harming them at all. You will need this if you want to keep your chameleon hydrated and his enclosure's humidity up. Unless you can find someone to come do it multiple times a day for the length of your trip. But once you have a misting system...you'll never go back. STRONGLY recommend Mistking. Marty is a great guy, super helpful and his product is Top notch. You can get a starter system for $100. DO IT!

I went on vacation 2 weeks ago and I got a misting. I had the same concerns as you did. I even considered not going because of my chams Lol! The mister is fantastic and it really gives you piece of mind Happy Anniversary!!

Do it... Buy the mistking. Then all your SiL has to do is check the clean water bucket and the drain bucket.

Thank you all soooo much!

You guys are so helpful!!! Thank you for the anniversary wishes!

Vacation over and Diesel did fabulous!

We went on our trip and thanks to the MistKing and my sitters, Diesel did great and grew so much! Thanks again for the advice and encouragement.

I want to ask when is it appropriate to move to the next size enclosure? Is it size or age based for Diesel?
Thanks!

Hope you had a great trip! :) It's definitely based on your chameleon's size. How old and what size is his current cage? I know that when my panther hit 7months, that's when I moved him into his "big boy cage," a 2'x2'x4'.

Our trip was wonderful! I think Diesel is roughly 3-3 1/2 months old. I have had him 2 1/2 months and he was the size of my index finger when I got him. We have the Reptibreeze Medium 16x16x30. He still has plenty of room, but I may need to change out to some thicker vines soon. I also want to plan ahead for his next enclosure. Thanks!

He should be plenty fine in that for at least another 2-4 months. At this point I would start looking into moving him.
