Need guidance please, is he happy?

This is our Jackson, Axle. Please see the picture. Does he look like he's happy, or stressed? He is outside sunning and does every other day for about 15 to 20 min. Also he is about 6 to 9 months old I think.
Lastly, at his age, an encloser outside good or bad. We live in so. Calif. So weather temp. Changes alot. Thoughts and advice are is greatly appreciated.

Is one side of his jaw swollen compared to the other? The side facing the camera back at the corner of his mouth looks odd to me. Jax are prone to an infection of the temporal gland that is located right at the corner of their mouth.

Just checked And thankfully it's not. i think it's the way the light hitting.

Why are they prone to infection of the temporal gland? Does it have something to do with husbandry temperature that makes them more susceptible?
