Need Help ASAP

I have had my Chameleon for approximately 3 mos. All was great until a week ago. He started his second shedding and seemed to have problems removing all the dead skin. He then seemed less active and not looking well. I helped remove the dead skin but he is hanging in the lower area of his enclosure and seems week. Any thoughts as to what is happening and what I should do would be greatlly appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Welcome to the forums. I'm sorry to hear that your chameleon is not feeling well. What kind of chameleon do you have? For shedding problems, I up the misting sessions and use warm water. You should not pull the shed off it could hurt your chameleon. Please fill out the Ask For Help form linked below so that we can try to help you figure out what might be wrong with your chameleon.

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Please also post a few pics of your cham and setup.

If your in the East US, this time of year it's hard to keep humidity and temps right. I have to do extra misting because the house heat sucks all the moisture out of the air. That creates shedding problems.

So, that's 2 things to check, basking temp (use a digital therm with a probe) and humidity.

Anyway, need more info to be able to help you.

Grumpy while shedding

I have noticed that my cham gets pretty grumpy when it's getting close to shedding time. The days before and the few days while it's happening seem to be quite aggravating for him, and I usually notice a slight decrease in energy and sometimes he just doesn't want to move around all that much (I can only imagine how it would feel to have too-tight skin...). Other times he will walk all around his cage and rub the dry skin off on vines. Make sure he's eating and drinking enough, and up his misting while he goes through the process. A shower can help too. Is this very different from his first shed while in your care? Hope this helps!
