need help my chameleon is weard./......

my chameleon keeps trying to bite the rocks that cover my soil in the potts...and he trys to eat the soil in the plants...i swiched the soil before i put the plants in the cage...i can hear her teeth grinding on the rocks...y dose she keep eating the soil?????????????????
 
what kind of cham do u have? veileds are known to try and eat soil. either way its not good so i guess try to find some other way to keep it away from both. im not sure how but im sure some other members have some ideas

ok! i know your just trying to get info and im not tryin to be a douche but try to keep the threads down if its gonna be about the same thing. just use your original thread. try to look through the search function. if your cham is stubborn just take the plant out for the time being till u can find a way to better cover the soil. ive already seen my veiled try to bite the fake leaves in his cage so i will get him a plant soon. but make sure u do your research on plants too. make sure their not toxic. a hisbiscus plant will be fine.
 
I've heard it proposed that trying to eat rocks and soil could be related to a nutritional deficiency. I've also heard it said that the shape or shine on a rock or pebble could cause a chameleon to consider it a possible prey item.

Consider completing the "how to ask for help" questionaire, in particular detailing your feeding /supplementing practices.

You might put landscaping fabric over the soil/rocks for the time being.
