need help with fishers -

little leaf

Avid Member
my friend is getting 3 of these - on Thursday - 2 males, and a gravid female - she has some knowledge of chams- but not with these, I have directed her to the forums- but she is asking how to care for them- I HAVE NOT A CLUE- I have never researched them, and do not want to give her the wrong advice - is there a care sheet for them anyone can post the link?
thank you :)

just the fishers- lol I dont know how to edit the title -:p I posted it before I proof read it- lol
am trying to find a pic of it-

There are fischers and there are mellers, but they're not at all the same. Which one is she getting? There's not a caresheet for either yet, but there is still a lot of good advice on the forums for both.

Ok a member named seeco he has multiple generations of these. If they're the Fischer in thinking of (kinyongia multituberculata). I think he has a care sheet on them or just read up on some of his threads.

I know it had 2 horns on its nose- but I can not find the pic- I know she is a member- I do not know if she can get online tonight, but I will be sure she sees this - I just don't want to tell her the wrong info- she has a few days until they get to her-
thanks for the help :)

I am not sure - she only left me a msg telling me she was getting fishers, and needed help on the set up for them - I will try to get more info from her- I do not even know how she ran across them -

Just as the article says. Large cage even though they are only a medium sized chameleon. They are very active!

Ambient temps in the 70s and 85 basking in the daytime with at least a 10 degree night time drop and high humidity levels.

Supplements should be used at a minimum because they are very prone to over supplementation. Gutload should be priority. I only supplement my montane species once a week with calcium maybe twice, a multi vit maybe once a month to 2 months and d3 once a month to a month and a half I guess. I have no real schedule just do what I feel like. Keep the feeders well gutloaded is key.

If your a fan of Kinyongia multituberculata Seeco (or Louis) has got the best captive bred animals out there. Check the classifieds. Their condition tops any wild caught animals out there. Cheers!

I just have to ask...and I am not trying to be aggressive about it, but if she needs this much basic care information why is she going ahead and getting these so soon (Thursday)? I would be on the forum constantly in preparation for new arrivals a long time in advance. And, she's not getting just one, but three, including a gravid female? I hope she has everything set up for them in advance. It is hard on newly arrived chams to be fussing and testing their setups after they arrive. Just asking for trouble IMHO. Fischeri can be very touchy about supplementation and gutload contents. Even experienced keepers can run into trouble (been there done that with a healthy cbb).

I just don't want us to hear a future call for help when these lovely ones start going downhill that's all.
