Coloring: brown all the time with small green spots
Cage: its a hex cage 1'x 8sides and 2'tall plenty big for now i think
Temperatures: basking area 85-95 degrees F, and non-basking is 75-90
Humidity: trying to keep about 50% but its hard. (ideas)?
Food: about 12 crickets daily small
Water: Misted three to four times a day, with one long misting in the
morning, and short mists at various times of day.
Stools: ?
Lights: zilla 150W and 50w (50w only sometimes) during day and only 150w at night, also 3% uv tube light during day
Location: spare office room no traffic but me and mom wen she does bills.

Problems:
1. I got home from work today @ 10 am and noticed right away a small white crustness around ziggy's nose, i was able to knock it off without a problem or agitation to him. jw wat it could be?
2. I got ziggy about a week ago the petshop couldnt tell me an age he said "a couple of months mayb." i said ok. jw is there a anyway to tell age?:D
3. Ziggy has stayed pretty much a brown with small green spots. i have only seen him turn bright green or any green completely once and i think that was cause he got scared right wen i got him home while i was putting him in his new cage. jw is the color brown mean something or is that a normal thing?
4. last one how long till they are full grown or close to. no hurry just wondering wat to expect?:)

sry if i sound like a newB but i did do my research b4 i got him but every place i went had there own idea so i thought i might ask some ppl who have been through it.

OK-I am not trying to offend or be mean, but where did you do your research???? A few big problems you have are:
Too small of a glass tank and that it IS a glass tank.
Your temps are WAY too high. A 2 month old should have temps no higher than the low 80'S. Your UVB is too weak-you need a Zoomed Reptisun 5.0 linear flourescent tube as recommended by most keeper-no compact UVB's. In a cage that small you wouldn't need anything more than a 40W bulb to get the temps where they need to be. They need NO heat at night unless temps are below 65 at that age.
Ditch the waterfall-they are a dangerous bacteria breeding ground. Ditch the substrate-very dangerous impaction potential.
Are you supplementing? Are you gutloading the crix? If you are supplementing the white crust may simply be that you are oversupplementing.
With some adjustments you should be OK. He does look like he could be a little dehydrated, but it is always hard to tell in pics.
They can be nearly full grown at 6 months, but I moved mine into his current 24X24X48 screen age at 4 1/2 months.

That is pretty much the exact opposite of how you should have that chameleon setup.

I would say though that your basking temps should be 90-95, but your ambient temps should be in on the cooler end of their current range (70's) so he has the opportunity to cool off when necessary.

ok i was sounds good thank you guys for the help do u think it would be ok to wait on moving to a mesh cage i have a buddy that has one but i dont want to set it up till i move in like less then i month if all goes well but. no i have no suplement just gutload for the crix's and u would guess he is maybe two months. i dont know his age. I dont know how he could be dehydrated i mist him plenty i thought i will take this info into effect asap thank you

well to start off i feel bad i was doing things wronge..:( second i got rid of all the mulch stuff from the bottom of the cage. i took the waterfall thing out and just have vines and sticks in there now i hope i am doing things better i think it is going to be much better for ziggy now. one more small thing i see ppl always talkin bout the poo color and i saw him do this today there was a first clump of white with a little yellow tip and then a few smaller clumps off blackish brown afterwards is this normal.

p.s. i really thank everyone who has had input on this i thank u an only hope to improve his habitat... :D

p.s.s. i am going to be getting a larger mesh cage soon i just have to check with the guy tomorow on the size of it to make sure it will work

Thanks Matt

I forget, but that poo sounds ok to me:) Ya,dont get too big of a mesh cage for him,not till hes around 6 months old. Id say hes only 2-3 months in that pic. Go to http://screameleons.com/setup_kit.htm,thats what i used for my panther at a young age,i would suggest all that stuff would work for veileds too. GL,and what size crickets are you feeding him?

Just to give you some reading. A few of us were helping someone out the other day with some of the same issues you are having. Just real through the thread. Take note of the photo with the spurs, it will help you determine your chams sex. And if you have the money buying some of the items listed in that thread would be highly recommended.

About the crust on his nose, it is ok. He is expelling excess minerals. If he has it a lot there is an issue with too much supplement in his diet.

BTW... do you have a cover for that tank? How does he not get out? when your reading the thread I posted above take careful notes of the lighting. Every little bit of the husbandary of a cham is a big deal. But, getting the cage, lights, misting and temps right first will help the cham out a lot. The other stuff will come with time and experience.
