I'm curious about setting up two Reptisun 5.0 florescent T8 bulbs, but is that too much?? Or is there another way where I can get extra lighting in my enclosure without extra heat?? Thanks!
two 5.0 bulbs would not be too much. they wouldnt give out double the uv just over a wider area. You can get 6500k daylight T8 bulbs that give out quite a bit of light.
I have double fixtures with reptisun 10.0 s on one side and 5000k daylight fluorescents on the other. I used to use the 6500k but I found the light way too gray and harsh, the 5000k is in a more natural daylight color range, in my opinion. And because they are fluorescents they don't put out any considerable heat.
I added a linear T8 plant bulb (Phillips). It gives off a nice red spectrum, really brightens up the cage, and has considerably improved the health of my plants.
