Hey guys i'm thinking of putting my veiled in the shower hes about 6 months old now but I don't have a fake plant for him what else can I do?

Use the plant thats in his enclosure. That way it gets watered. Also it sprays the leaves down.

Don't shower him?

I never have.
I see no need to shower a healthy, well hydrated animal.

I'm a bit worried about him being hydrated enough, I never see him drink and sometimes his urates is a bit yellow.

use anything thicker then a pencil, washed and cleaned branches, a bunch of rope ect. remove a window screen wash it and prop it up on the far side of the shower at an angle... NOTHING WITH SMOOTH SURFACES!!!!!!! IE: bamboo. a textured surface is the only option for chams esp in water.

if you have a tree that makes sense to let your cham climb on, then prop the hose so it falls on the tree with low pressure, my chams LOVE IT

i see where you are coming from with the " if it aint broke dont fix it" view brad, but many keepers witness chams not only drinking from a dripper, but washing their eyes in it ect... It rains in nature, as well.

Other than stress ( which isnt always a bad thing ) what at the negative effects?

And on that note, i think a shower will provide a healthy amount of stree

IF hydration is the issue
you can place a wide mouth glass of water in his cage
(make sure it's clear and can let light in)

Veiled's don't have much of a problem with adapting
if they're thirsty, they'll make a bee line for it
I've got all my animals drinking from glasses nowdays np.
