Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Male Veiled about 6-8 monthes

Handling - only about three maybe four times since March17th when he came home.

Feeding - He eats mainly crickets Gutloaded with Repashy superload and whatever fresh fruits and veggies I throw in the cricket cage. He eats in the early evening. He was eating 10-15 crickets. He snacks on about 7 mealworms since I have had him. I bought waxworms today because my Phoenix worms have not been delivered. He only ate one.

Supplements - Repashy Calcium +

Watering - Habba Mister with additional spray bottle misting. I have been watering him recently with sterile water with a syringe also. I have only noticed a few times him actually drinking from the leaves of the mister.

Fecal Description - dark brown with white recently have seen some yellow but not a lot

History - I recently bought him got him from a Pets supplies plus felt sorry because his aquariums was on the floor next to dead hermit crabs. I knew he shoudln't be on the ground.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Zilla Fresh Air Screen Habitat for Reptiles 18" L X 30" W X 30" H

Lighting - 60watt blue day bulb and 5.0 tube reptisun. On at 7am off at 9pm

Temperature - Basking temp around mid to high 80's lowest night temp around 70's high 60's maybe.

Humidity - I have the Habba mister on every three hours for 30 seconds.

Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?

Placement - Living room

Location - next to sun conure however conure cage is covered on that side so they cannot see each other.

Current Problem - He has rarely been eating went from 10-15 crickets a day to a 3-4 maybe. I tried to give him waxworms today because my phoenix worms didn't come he ate one. I gave him some Repta+Boost today he actually had about 1cc. He has also been drinking water from the syringe. He is dark in color and sits mainly under basking light all day and he is brownish. I think either he is stressed over something or he may have a cold? He did sneeze yesterday. I would take him to the Vet tomorrow if I didn't have to take my two legged kid to the doctor's... Any suggestions on what I can do?

Has he shed?
Lack of appetite, and inactivity are signs of a shed.

Basking should be in the mid to high 90s.

This could account for lack of appetite/movement as well.

Just some thoughts...

thank you

I noticed his head shed bout a week after I got him but I never noticed his body shed.
He seems a tad more active today and he ate a few waxworms I gutloaded on Repashy superload and maybe 3-4 crickets today. I also have his phoenix worms finally. They are also in there with him in his bowl.

I am so happy to see him eat. He also took about a 1/2CC of Repta Boost.

I am feeling hopeful for him!!!!

This might be completely irrelevant, but depending on your light schedule, he really shouldn't be eating in the evening.

Personally, if I eat too late at night it makes me sluggish the next day and I don't really wanna eat anything.

sneezing sounds like a respiratory infection to me. I would take him to the vets after you get done taking the two legged pets to their doctor.

I think this is very relevant. JMO

I think longer and more frequent mistings are in order as well.
Not drastically longer, but at least one that lasts 5min a day.

Yes, this/\

idk what you think about the habbamister? i use to own one and it spits more than sprays :/ if your feel the same way try getting a mistking theyre awsome

Nelson Update

:D He ate soo good today. I definitely can tell he is coming around. He ate a few crickets from yesterday, about 6 wax worms and a bunch of medium Phoenix worms. I gave him 1/2cc of Reptaboost. His coloring is coming back not as dark. No sneezing either.(relief)

I am just going to keep up with what I am doing. I figure if I can raise hatchlings from day one I can nurse my sweet Nelson back to health. They are sure tricky little guys compared to birds but really not much different from babies straight out of the egg. A lot of TLC!!!!

I would of definitely taken him to th Vet today if he wasn't better. But we are not out of the woods yet.

PS I don't care for the Habbamister either it is just for now till I get some extra money. I definitely want a Mistking before I get my next Chameleon. From what I gather it is the only one I will need and can be set up to mist the whole crew correct?
