New Cage Build!

Hi All,

I just completed the build on my new cage. I designed it to house all components (such as misting water reservoir, motor, electrical components, food, other items needing storage.

I also built it in a modular fashion, with 4 removable sections, for ease of movement and transporting. Another feature of the design is a crown (the top section) that hides all lighting, and a drainage section.

I have a lot of pictures, so I set up a web gallery:

http://spacecaps.org/public/

There's a lot of little details here and there that I modified, such as putting straws in the bottom of the pots that lead out for drainage or other things. If anyone has any questions, please ask!

I have a few aesthetic modifications I plan on making, such as a little curtain to cover up the storage area in the bottom.

I hope everyone likes!

That looks nice. You should add more foliage and definitely more branches going horizontally as well as vertically.

Looks good, but I would suggest you consider building the door with a frame to fill the outside perimeter of the entry. You have some fairly large gaps there, I learned the hard way building homemade enclosures that crickets are escape artist. I use to build the doors to fit within the frame like yours, I soon changed them to fit the outside frame of the enclosure enclosures with foam seals. Hope this makes since.

Thanks everyone!

To address a few things:

- I plan on getting way more vines and things to climb on, so that's coming soon
- The door is a little off, yes, it kind of slanted after I put it on, haha, but it's no problem at all because if crickets get out of a feeding bowl I put them in, then they fall straight through to the water container and can't escape.
- Yeah, the back is actually an entire living wall that I built using the help of a guide that codiwatkins did (https://www.chameleonforums.com/diy-living-wall-turtorial-pictures-129951/) So thank you codiwatkins!
